Architecture festival kicks off in Czechia and Slovakia

The 13th annual Architecture Day, a week-long festival celebrating quality architecture in Czechia and Slovakia, kicked off on Friday. Some 450 free events will be on offer throughout the week until October 5, including entry to buildings normally not open to the public, architectural walking tours, and guided bike rides led by architects and historians.

The program this year includes modern and forgotten historical buildings, towers, monasteries, churches, bridges and stadiums from across the country in a variety of architectural styles, from baroque through functionalism and brutalism to the present.
