Czechia’s Eva Pavlová attends first ladies gathering in Kyiv
The wife of Czech President Petr Pavel, Eva Pavlová, travelled to Kyiv on Wednesday to attend a summit of first ladies and gentlemen organised by Olena Zelenska, spouse of Ukraine’s head of state, Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Czech First Lady arrived in the Ukrainian capital for the third such meeting early on Wednesday morning against the backdrop of air raid sirens and very soon after air defence systems shot down a number of Russian missiles, Czech Radio’s Martin Dorazín reported. Indeed there were fears Mrs. Pavlová’s train could be in danger, the correspondent said.
The gathering was expected to focus on the mental health of people in crisis areas. Presidents’ wives and husbands from Slovakia, Denmark, Lithuania, Armenia, Estonia, Slovenia and Serbia were also due to attend.
