Czech banks’ online services hit by cyber attacks

A number of Czech banks experienced outages of their internet banking or their websites on Wednesday. Komerční banka, Česká spořitelna, ČSOB, Air Bank and Fio banka all reported problems, the Czech News Agency said.

A spokesperson for the Czech Banking Association said the banks had been the victim of cyber attacks. A representative of Česká spořitelna told the news site iRozhlas.cz that it had been hit by distributed denial of service, or DDoS, attacks.
