Zeman hits out at Ukrainian men in Czechia
Former president Miloš Zeman has hit out at Ukrainian males present in Czechia. In an interview for CNN Prima he said that whoever was capable of rape was capable of fighting, a reference to the fact that Ukrainian nationals are facing rape charges in two recent cases. He said Ukrainian men in Czechia were “almost deserters” for not serving their country.
Mr. Zeman said that when Ukrainian refugees first arrived in Czechia it was said that 80 percent were women and children, but that this now seemed not to be the case.
Referring to the alleged rapes, current head of state Petr Pavel warned against collective guilt.
