Nerudová to stand for Mayors in Euro elections

Danuše Nerudová plans to stand in next year’s European Parliament elections for the Mayors party. The economist, who came third in elections to the Czech presidency earlier this year, announced her decision on Thursday.

Mrs. Nerudová said she wished to head the Mayors’ candidates list, a post which the grouping’s Jan Farský is also reported to be interested in.

She said she felt a responsibility toward those who had voted for her in the presidential elections and wished for change.
