Czech police help bust international crime ring

Czech police were part of an international operation that busted an organized crime ring operating across the EU, the ctk news agency reported. Together with colleagues from France, Spain and Europol, they uncovered an organized crime group involved in widespread theft and trucking in countries around the EU, including Czechia. According to a police spokesperson, the group used fictitious companies to steal and re-sell goods to the tune of 15 million euros. The stolen goods ended up on the black market in various parts of the European Union and outside the European continent. Nine suspects , including the ring-leader, have been charged with theft, fraud and tax evasion.
