Letní Letná to kick off with joint project by Swedish and Czech artists
The 20th edition of the annual Letní Letná international festival of new circus will open this month with a joint performance by the Swedish troupe Cirkus Cirkör and Czech artists from Cirk La Putyka, Losers Cirque Company and AirGym Art Company.
The opening ceremony, called A Tribute to the New Circus, will take place on August 16 and 17 at Letná Park on the newly built pond and will feature over 50 performers, acrobats and swimmers, the organizers announced on Tuesday.
Other highlights of the festival, which will run until September 9, include the premier performance The Loop by the domestic Losers Cirque Company, and the performance Ruten by Japanese solo artist Aki Yoshida.
