Czech surgeons carry out dozens of operations in Lviv under Ministry programme

Three Czech surgeons and an anaesthesiologist from the Brno University Hospital are set to carry out operations on two dozen patients in the Ukrainian city of Lviv this week. It will be the first medical mission of the Czech Ministry of the Interior’s Medevac programme in Ukraine.

A spokesperson for the Ministry said the surgeons were specialised in burns and plastic surgery and began their mission on Monday. Their focus will be on complex injuries stemming from Russia’s war on Ukraine and should help patients to return to a more dignified life, the spokesperson said.
