Czech police not planning to deport Russians playing in tennis Challenger Tour competition

Czech police say they are not planning to deport two Russian tennis players taking part in an ATP Challenger Tour competition in Liberec, north Bohemia this week. A spokesperson for the country’s migration police said on Monday that they had carried out checks on the two but found no shortcomings as they are in the country in accordance with Czech regulations.

Last week Czech police refused to allow a Russian player enrolled in this week’s Prague Open to enter the country. The organisers of the WTA tour event said no Russian or Belarusian players would be competing as there was a ban on athletes from their countries participating in events on Czech territory.
