Výborný meets Pavel ahead of appointment to agriculture brief next week

President Petr Pavel had a meeting on Tuesday with the incoming minister of agriculture, Marek Výborný, who he is due to appoint on June 29. Mr. Výborný said he had discussed his priorities for the ministry with the head of state, adding that he regarded communication as key.

The former leader of the Christian Democrats will replace party colleague Zdeněk Nekula, who is stepping down, saying he did not feel the support of the grouping’s leadership.
