Lipavský condemns attack on Ukraine's Kakhovka dam
Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský has roundly condemned the attack on the Kakhovka dam in Ukraine's Kherson region, saying on Twitter that it is comparable to the use of weapons of mass destruction on civilians. He also called it an act of brutality that will be punished, and said that Russia was continuing to push the limits of its aggression by attacking infrastructure near populated areas.
Following this, he approved an aid bundle of CZK 10 million for the affected region, which, according to the foreign ministry's spokesperson Daniel Drake, is the highest amount that the department can send without approval from the government.
Ukraine's military and NATO have accused Russia of blowing up the dam, while Russian officials blame Ukrainian troops.
