Thousands turn out for Convoy of Liberty parade in Plzeň

Thousands of people turned out to see the Convoy of Liberty parade in the West Bohemian city of Plzeň. The parade of historical military vehicles is the highlight of the city’s Freedom celebrations commemorating its liberation by US forces in 1945. The main act of remembrance at the monument Thank You, America was traditionally held on May 6, the day U.S. Army soldiers under General George Patton entered the city in 1945.

The celebrations, which end on VE Day, include a military-historical and cultural program, outdoor gatherings, concerts, exhibitions and meeting with veterans.
