Karlovy Vary film festival to honour actress Daniela Kolářová

The 57th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will honour Daniela Kolářová, the organisers said on Tuesday. The great Czech actress will receive the festival’s President’s Award and her classic film Ball Lightning will be screened.

The country’s top cinema event, which begins on June 30, will present the premiere of a restored version of the 1965 film Courage for Every Day by Evald Schorm.

There will be a retrospective of works by the Japanese director Yasuzo Masamura and a selection of Iranian films made in the past four years.
