Minister pledges end to late benefits payments by May

Benefits are being paid late in some parts of Czechia, causing problems for clients, Czech Television reported. The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs pledged in December to solve the problem in the first quarter of this year but failed to do so.

Minister Marian Jurečka has now promised to deal with the matter by May at the latest, Czech TV said.

The state is legally bound to deliver unemployment and social security benefits on time.
