Zelensky awards Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise to Czechia’s heads of Parliament

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise to Czechia’s heads of Parliament, namely Senate Speaker Miloš Vystrčil and Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekarová Adamová, the Czech News Agency reported on Thursday.

The order was given to the two Czechs for their extraordinary personal accomplishments in strengthening Ukrainian-Czech bi-lateral cooperation as well as for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the Czech Senate’s press secretary Lada Faldynová told the Czech News Agency.

Mr Vystrčil is set to receive the order in Prague on Sunday from the Chairman of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk. The latter will be in the Czech capital to attend a conference of EU heads of parliament. It has not yet been confirmed when the speaker of Czechia’s lower-house will receive hers.

Founded in 1995, the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise is one of the highest orders of Ukraine. It is awarded to both Ukrainian and foreign citizens
