Czech and Slovak cabinets hold joint session in Trenčín

The Czech and Slovak cabinets met for a joint session in the city of Trenčín in western Slovakia on Monday afternoon. Speaking ahead of the meeting the Czech prime minister, Petr Fiala, said the ministers would discuss boosting energy security, moving away from dependency on Russian raw materials, competitiveness and defence cooperation.

Mr. Fiala said it was important to deepen regional cooperation and referred to the Visegrad Four and the Slavkov/Austerlitz group, both of which are currently being chaired by Slovakia.
