Tourist season officially kicks off in Czechia

Hundreds of castles, palaces and other national monuments administered by the National Heritage Institute are opening up to the public this Saturday, April 1, as the tourist season officially starts in Czechia. On the occasion, the institute has also organized various new tours in several monuments across the country. This year, it also plans to mark the 300th anniversary of the death of Baroque architect Jan Blažej.

Privately owned chateaus that still belong to their original aristocratic owners are also opening.

Czechia’s rich architectural and cultural heritage traditionally draws millions of domestic and foreign visitors every year. In 2022, 3.4 million people were registered as visitors by the National Heritage Institute.
