Karolina Muchová, World No. 76, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Masters tournament after defeating her compatriot Markéta Vondroušová 6-4, 6-7, 6-4. She will next face the No.10 seed, Kazakh Elena Rybakina.

Another Czech to reach the round of eight at Indian Wells is Petra Kvitová, who defeated the No. 3-ranked American Jessica Pegula 6-2, 3-6, 7-6.
