Prague’s Kino Atlas to reopen this month with focus on documentary and art films

One of the oldest cinemas in the country, Prague’s Kino Atlas will reopen on March 21, the Czech News Agency reported on Wednesday citing one of the operators of the cinema Vít Janeček. He said that Atlas is now being run by several film makers who want to place emphasis on art and documentary productions within the cinema’s programme.

A gallery, dedicated to the famous Czech documentary film director Karel Vachek, is also set to open within the complex. It will offer a permanent exhibition of his paintings as well as other events. The cinema’s café will also be extended.
