Incoming president Pavel meets Macron in Munich

Czech president-elect Petr Pavel met France’s President Emanuel Macron on the sidelines of a security conference in Germany’s Munich on Friday. There were no opportunities for press questions at the meeting, but prior to travelling to the event Mr. Pavel said he would use the visit to establish contacts for his future role as head of state.

While in Munich he was also due to meet the president of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda.

Mr. Pavel is set to be sworn in as Czech head of state on March 9.
