Prague 3 may raise council house rents
The district authorities at Prague 3 are considering raising council housing rent by 20 percent, Czech Television reported on Friday. Social housing costs would remain the same. Similar plans are being brought up in several other Prague districts as well as in many cities across Czechia. Rising maintenance, repair and reconstruction costs are cited as reasons for the move.
Prague 3 currently has 1,200 council flats. Rents have not changed in the district since 2019. Market rates are currently around twice as high.
