Czech ice hockey team beats Sweden 2:1 at Beijer Hockey Games opener

The Czech ice hockey team beat Sweden 2:1 in overtime in their opening game at the Beijer Hockey Games in Malmo. Team captain Jan Kovář opened up the score in the 18th minute, but Sweden’s Lucas Wallmark equalised at the beginning of the third period. Defender Lukáš Klok then sealed the game with a one timer that landed in the home team’s net just 35 seconds into overtime.

The win means Czechia now trails leaders Sweden by just one point in the Euro Hockey Tour league, of which the Beijer Hockey Games are a part of.
