Police say Babiš’s wife did not receive live bullet in post

The police say they have shelved the case of a threatening letter sent to the wife of Andrej Babiš during his presidential campaign. Mr. Babiš said at a news conference a week before the second round of the elections that his spouse, Monika, had also received a live bullet with the letter. However, the police said on Wednesday that it had not contained a live bullet.

The case was halted in view of the death of the suspected sender, who took his own life.
