Pavel to request audit at Prague Castle before taking over

The newly-elected president, Petr Pavel, has said he will ask the Supreme Audit Office to conduct an in-depth audit into the management of the Office of the President before he takes office on March 9. In an interview for TV Nova, Mr. Pavel said that in view of past irregularities he wants to make sure that there are no skeletons in the closet before he accepts responsibility for the office. The Supreme Audit Office conducted an audit into the management of the President’s Office last year and found a number of shortcomings. President Zeman’s team was also accused of shredding classified documents in violation of the rules.
