Jiří Lehečka reaches Australian Open quarterfinals

Czechia’s men’s number one Jiří Lehečka advanced to fifth round of tennis’s Australian Open in Melbourne. The World No. 71 defeated the sixth-seeded Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 ,7-6, reaching his first ever Grand Slam quarterfinal. He will next face the winner of a match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Jannik Sinner.

In women’s singles, Barbora Krejčíková lost her fourth round match, after failing to get past American Jessica Pegula, who won 7-5, 6-2.
