Petr Pavel has enough funds for campaigning in second round
General Petr Pavel, who will face Andrej Babis in next week’s run-off, has already raised the maximum amount he can spend on the second round of campaigning. Thousands of small donors sent him more than 11 million crowns shortly after his victory in the first round of elections on Saturday. The retired general spent close to forty million in the first round of elections, thanks to large donations from wealthy sponsors. Billionaire candidate Andrej Babis is financing his own campaign. Czech law sets a ten million crown ceiling on campaigning in the second round of elections.
