Czechs to begin voting in first round of presidential elections

Czechs are due to begin voting for a successor to President Miloš Zeman at 2 pm on Friday. Polling stations around the country will remain open until 10 pm before again opening from 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The results should be known on Saturday afternoon.

If, as expected, none of the eight candidates taking part receive more than 50 percent in the first round a second round run-off will be held in a fortnight’s time.
