Czech government’s debt up by CZK 548 billion year on year

The nominal debt of Czech government institutions rose by CZK 548.6 billion year-on-year to CZK 2.938 trillion in the third quarter of 2022. The debt ratio increased in annual terms 40.4 percent to 45.2 percent of GDP, according to data released by the Czech Statistics Office on Tuesday.

Compared to the second quarter of 2022, the Czech government’s debt rose by CZK 187.5 billion and the debt ratio by 1.7 percentage points. Government debt has been rising continuously since the fourth quarter of 2021.
