Unseasonably warm weather continues to break temperatures records

The unseasonably warm spell continues to break temperature records around the country. Temperature records for January 2 were registered at 90 out of 162 stations that have been monitoring for 30 years and more.

The highest temperature was recorded in Zlaté Hory in the Jesenice region, where it reached 18.7 degrees Celsius. The unusually warm weather, which is caused by the hot air flowing into Europe from northwest Africa, is expected to last in the coming days.
