Martina Navratilova diagnosed with cancer
The Czech-born tennis great Martina Navratilova has been diagnosed with two forms of cancers. Navratilova, 66, told The Times she has throat and breast cancer, though both were discovered in the early stages. “This double whammy is serious but still fixable, and I’m hoping for a favorable outcome,” Navratilova said in the interview, adding “It’s going to stink for a while, but I’ll fight with all have I got.” Navratilova was at the height of her career in the 1970s and 80s, claiming 18 Grand Slam singles titles.
