Czechia calls meeting of EU Health Security Committee over Covid in China
In the final days of its EU Presidency, Czechia has initiated a meeting of the European Health Security Committee on the rapid spread of Covid-19 in China. China has abandoned its zero-Covid policy, opened its borders and is allowing its nationals to travel freely, which has raised concern in some European states. Italy introduced compulsory PCR tests on Wednesday following testing of passengers on a flight from China at Milan airport, where half of the passengers were found to be infected. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Thursday that tests should be compulsory for Chinese nationals across the EU.
