Govt. signs non-binding memorandum with Swedes for combat vehicles

The Czech government has signed a non-binding memorandum with Sweden and the company BAE Systems to purchase CV90 tracked combat vehicles. The move was announced by the minister of defence, Jana Černochová, on Wednesday. The Czech government decided to launch negotiations on acquiring CV90s via intergovernmental treaty in July. The Czech Army is seeking 210 vehicles.

Minister Černochová was speaking at the ceremonial handover of Leopard tanks donated to Czechia by Germany at an army centre in the Olomouc Region.
