Christmas tree erected on Prague’s Old Town Square
The traditional Christmas tree was erected on Prague’s Old Town Square on Monday night. The spruce – which was felled in the village of Kytlice in North Bohemia – is 58 years old and measures 28 metres.
The tree, one of the most visible symbols of Christmas in the Czech capital, will be decorated in the coming days.
The lighting ceremony will take place on Saturday evening, on the first weekend of Advent, marking the opening of the traditional Christmas markets held on the square.
