Poll: ANO remain in front but Civic Democrats and Pirates gain ground
Opposition leaders ANO would have come first in elections held at the turn of this month with 26.5 percent of the vote, suggests a poll by the Kantar CZ agency for Czech Television published on Sunday. This represents a fall of 3 percent on the last such survey a month earlier.
Government leaders the Civic Democrats gained 3.5 percent for backing of 21.5 percent of the electorate, the poll indicates. Coalition partners the Pirates made gains of 2.5 percent to reach 11.5 percent.
Among the other governing parties TOP 09 were on 6 percent, while the Mayors and Independents were also near the threshold with 5.5 percent and the Christian Democrats would not have made it into the lower house with 3.5 percent.
The second biggest opposition grouping, Freedom and Direct Democracy, won the backing of 11 percent of respondents.
