Czech Christmas trees to go up around 10 percent this year

Czech-grown Christmas trees are set to go up in price by around 10 percent this year, the Association of Christmas Tree Growers told the Czech News Agency. The reasons are increased costs of energy, transport and fertilisers.

Most vendors will launch sales at the beginning of December, as is traditional. However, some companies, such as DIY chains Mountfield and Kaufland, are planning to start in the second last week of November.

The best-selling type of Christmas tree in Czechia is the Caucasian fir, with around 80 percent of the market.
