Food collection takes place at over 1,400 Czech shops

A national food collection began at over 1,400 shops around Czechia on Saturday morning. Durable goods and toiletries collected during the day will go to the stores of food banks, where they will be used to help seniors, singles mothers, the handicapped, disadvantages families and children in care homes. This is the autumn round of collecting.

The head of the Czech Federation of Food Banks says there has been a marked increase in the organisation’s clients this year due to a sharp rise in food and energy costs.
