Czechia to receive CZK 780 million to strengthen EU outer border protection
Czechia is set to receive some CZK 780 million from the EU for strengthening the protection of the outer border of the Schengen zone at the country’s international airports, a spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry told the Czech News Agency on Thursday.
The financial support was approved by the European Commission and will be used for improving the IT systems and equipment for checks at airports.
The EU external border in Czechia comprises 19 civilian and three military international airports which serve flights from countries outside the Schengen area.
