Over three and a half thousand visas granted to Ukrainian refugees in past week
Over the past seven days, 3,574 Ukrainian refugees received temporary protection visas in Czechia, 719 less than the previous week. Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Czech state has granted a total of 446,811 temporary visas, which allow their holders access to public health insurance, education and the labour market.
The authorities no longer issue visas on the weekend, so the largest number of them are usually issued on Mondays when registration opens again. This was also the case this week when 1,296 Ukrainian applicants received temporary protection on Monday. Over a thousand visas were also issued on Wednesday.
