Survey: more than 80 % of Czech second level elementary school pupils experience bullying

More than 80 percent of second-level elementary school pupils in Czechia have experienced verbal bullying, suggests a survey carried out by the company Scio, a leading Czech educational consultancy.

Some 40 percent of the children described verbal bullying as very common. Physical abuse was experienced frequently or on a daily basis by 13 percent of the children.

The survey was carried out among nearly 13,000 children from 110 elementary schools in Czechia during the past school year. More than half of the respondents said there was no adult at their school whom they would trust to approach with a problem or request advice from.
