Covid hospitalisations in Czechia jump

The number of people hospitalised with Covid-19 in Czechia stood at 1,381 on Saturday, a rise of 414 on the same day a week earlier. Of the latest number 48 are in a critical condition, up from 28 seven days previously.

Some 667 new cases of the coronavirus were recorded on Saturday, a rise of 100 compared to a week earlier. Testing was one-quarter down.

As in previous years, infection rates have risen in Czechia since the end of the summer holidays.
