21 injured after people smuggler van crashes in Břeclav

A people smuggler with a van carrying 29 Syrian refugees crashed in Břeclav, south Moravia on Saturday morning after being chased by the police. Twenty-one people, including five children, were injured when the van hit a parked car. Six of the injured are in a serious condition.

The police, who have temporarily reintroduced controls on the border with Slovakia due to a rise in illegal immigrant numbers, had followed the vehicle from the Lanžhot border crossing.
