Czech national team secures spot at World Baseball Classic tournament

The Czech National Baseball Team has qualified for the prestigious World Baseball Classic tournament after beating Spain 3:1 in the qualifiers on Wednesday, the Czech News Agency reports. Czechia ended in second place at the Regensburg qualifier for the tournament, behind first placed Great Britain.

The World Baseball Classic begins on March 8 next year. One of the two main senior baseball tournaments sanctioned by the World Baseball Softball Confederation, the World Baseball Classic grants the winner the title of "World Champion".
