Fifty-two cases of monkeypox detected in Prague since May
Five new cases of monkeypox were registered in Prague last week, bringing the total up to 52, according to the data released by Prague’s hygiene station on Wednesday. Another 14cases of monkey pox have been confirmed by hygiene stations in other regions.
The disease, which has been common in West and Central African countries for some time, was first detected in Czechia at the end of May. All of the infected were under 50 years old and most of them had travelled abroad prior to showing symptoms of the disease.
