John Malkovich to premiere one-man show in Prague

Acclaimed US actor John Malkovich will present the world premiere of his one-man show The Infamous Ramirez Hoffman in Prague, the Czech News Agency reports. Malkovich will perform the play in English at Prague’s Congress Centre on November 11 and then take it on tour.

The play is based on the last chapter of the book Estrelio Distante (The Distant Star) by Chilean author Roberto Bolaño. The book, considered by literary critics to be one of Bolaño's most important works, is a story about an artist who cares only about aesthetics rather than ethics.

Malkovich will perform accompanied only by musicians, just like in his play The Music Critic, which he performed in July this year in Kroměříž in south-east Moravia.
