Czech PM to attend Queen’s funeral, president says

Czechia will be represented at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral by Prime Minister Petr Fiala, the country’s president, Miloš Zeman, told radio Frekvence 1 on Sunday.

President Zeman said that he had been forbidden by doctors to fly due to medical reasons and that he therefore asked the prime minister to attend instead.

Earlier on Sunday, Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský said that who would represent Czechia will only be decided if the country receives an invitation to the funeral, which is set to take place on September 19.
