Czech Tomáš Staněk takes bronze in shot put at European Championship in Munich

Czech athlete Tomáš Staněk took the bronze in the men’s shot put event at the European Championships in Munich with a throw of 21.26 metres, securing the Czech team's first medal. Filip Mihaljevic of Croatia came first with 21.88 meters, followed by Armin Sinančević of Serbia.

For the 31-year-old Czech, who is last year's European indoor champion, this is his first medal from an outdoor championship. He finished fourth at both the 2017 World Championships and the 2018 European Championships.
