Stanjura: State will use ČEZ dividends to help those hit by energy crisis

This year’s dividends from the state-majority-owned energy conglomerate ČEZ will be used by the government to mitigate the impacts of the energy crisis, Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura told Czech Radio on Wednesday.

ČEZ’s net profit in the first half of 2022 lay at CZK 33.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of CZK 32 billion. Current predictions estimate that the conglomerate’s overall net profit for this year will reach between 60 to 65 billion crowns, with more than half of the dividends going to the Czech state.
