Prague Pride festival begins

Prague Pride kicks off at 6 pm on Monday on Střelecký Island with a programme of concerts and other events. The festival celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people, and other people from sexual minorities (LGBT+) runs until Sunday and offers dozens of musical performances, talks, lectures, exhibitions, theatre performances and film screenings, featuring performances by Czech and international stars.

The event will once again include Saturday's Rainbow Parade, which has not taken place for the past two years due to coronavirus restrictions. The parade will begin at Můstek at 1 pm and head to Letná, where attendees can listen to concerts on six different stages. One of the new events this year will be the Pride Conference, a two-day human rights conference focussing mainly on the lives of LGBT+ people in Central and Eastern Europe.
