Rent prices in Czechia rising rapidly
Rent prices in Czechia are continuing to rise, the Czech News Agency reported on Thursday. Countrywide they rose by an average of 11 percent year-on-year, with Prague seeing the biggest increase at 15.6 percent, according to analyses by the internet portal Realitymix.cz and the development companies Trigema, Skanska Reality and Central Group. Rent prices have now exceeded the pre-pandemic levels of 2019 and further growth is expected.
The average rental price per square metre increased in all Czech cities with the exception of Ústí nad Labem, Realitymix.cz reported. In Prague, according to Trigema, Skanska Reality and Central Group, the average price is CZK 360 crowns per m2 and the average cost of short-term rent is CZK 28,500 per month.
The reason for rising prices is, among other things, a reduction in the supply of available apartments. Real estate with an area of more than 70m2 is in especially short supply in cities. According to data from GarantovanyNajem.cz, there are currently 1,960 apartments available for rent in the capital, while last year there were 4,300 available.
