Around 700 fire officers now dealing with North Bohemia blaze

Around 700 fire officers are now dealing with a fire that broke out last weekend in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park in North Bohemia. Some 240 fire fighters from around Czechia have been deployed to join the hundreds already in place throughout the week. Five planes and eight helicopters are also being used to combat the fire, which has been contained to a certain area in the national park.

At one point smoke from the fire could be smelled in Prague and other parts of Czechia. Officials say human carelessness appears the most likely cause.
